Traveling can be exciting, but keeping everything organized while on the go is crucial. Whether you’re heading out for a weekend getaway or a long international trip, packing efficiently can make your journey much smoother. As a professional organizer I am naturally detailed oriented. So when I pack, I try to think of every detail and make A LOT of lists. That’s why I wanted to share with you my helpful tools for an organized trip.
As a frequent weekend traveler I have found that having items prepacked in my toiletry bag and having a capsule wardrobe outfit formula helps make packing faster and more efficient. I try to choose clothing that is neutral or themed so I can minimize the amount of accessories and shoes that I will need to pack. Also, I have my tried and true items that really help me on the road. Here’s a list of helpful supplies and travel essentials that can help keep your packing organized and stress-free, along with links to make shopping for them easier.

1. Compact Medicine Organizers
When you’re on the move, it’s essential to have your medications organized and easy to access. A compact medicine pack can hold all your necessary pills, vitamins, and first aid supplies. Keep everything in one place to avoid scrambling through your suitcase when you need something. I love this one because it also comes with labels so you can bring a variety of medicines without

If you are traveling internationally or to a remote location and want a variety of medicine but don’t want to buy every one. I highly suggest a traveler’s medicine pack.

2. Foldable Hangers
Pack light and stay wrinkle-free with foldable hangers. These handy organizing tools are perfect for hanging clothes in hotel rooms or Airbnbs, ensuring that your clothes stay neat and wrinkle-free during your travels. It seems there are never enough even if they provide them. They’re lightweight, space-saving, and easy to carry in your luggage.

3. Road Trip Activity Pack
Long road trips can get boring, especially for kids. Bring along a road trip activity pack to keep everyone entertained and engaged during the ride. These packs are filled with puzzles, games, and other fun activities that will help pass the time while keeping the car organized.
I created this for my kids when we were getting ready for a fourteen hour road trip. Simply print the pages, put them in a zippered binder inside clear sheet protectors. I added a binder pencil pouch and filled it with these dry erase markers. The kids were able to draw, play games and fill in the activity sheets over and over again.

Comfort is key when traveling, especially when you’re staying in hotels. A pair of slippers will help keep your feet comfortable after a long day of sightseeing or meetings. Plus, they’ll keep your feet off potentially germy floors in hotel rooms.

6. Packing Cubes
One of the best ways to stay organized when packing is using packing cubes. These nifty little bags let you compartmentalize your clothes, making it easy to find what you need without rummaging through your suitcase. Whether you’re packing clothes, shoes, or accessories, these cubes are a game-changer.
I love to use these to separate each member of the family’s clothing if we are taking one bag or use to categorize my clothing in my own bag.

A hanging toiletry bag is an excellent investment for keeping your toiletries organized and easy to access. With multiple compartments for your shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and other essentials, you can avoid the frustration of digging through a messy bag.

11. Elastic Bands for Resort Chairs
If you’re heading to a resort or beach, don’t forget elastic bands for resort chairs. Recently my family and I were at a resort in Mexico that had hundreds of chairs that were full before breakfast every morning. If you woke up early enough you could reserve your family’s spot by the pool or the beach.
Stretchy bands are a great way to mark the chair with your towels. These stretchy bands can be wrapped around your chair’s arms to keep your towel in place, ensuring a clean, tidy area for lounging.

A foldable laundry bag is a must-have for keeping your dirty clothes separate from your clean ones during your trip. I love to come home and bring the bag directly to my washer and get everything clean right away.

Don’t forget to pack a packable bag that can fold up small enough to fit into your luggage when not in use. It’s perfect for day trips, shopping, or carrying extra items you pick up along the way. These bags are lightweight and easy to store when not in use.
I use these bags as grocery bags and shopping bags when I am not traveling. I always have one or two in my purse or work bag because they have so many uses.
